Harvester - home of the flame-grill and the help-yourself salad cart - offer a relaxing farmhouse atmosphere and fresh, wholesome food. The menu includes succulent spitroast chicken, the wholesome taste of flame-grilled steaks, platters with a little bit of everything and unlimited freshly prepared salad with every main meal.
My husband and I decided to have a Harvester take away the other night. Instead of ordering by phone, we decided to walk there so we could have a couple of drinks at the bar while we were waiting for our food. We waited at the bar untill someone came over to serve us, only to be told we couldn't have the takeaway service as they had run out of boxes.! So with disgust we left. What is the point of offering a service that you cant provide. SORT IT OUT.!!
My partner is a bit of a snob. For years and years she refused to go to a harvester, saying all it sold was processed food and likened it to the beefeater (bleargh!). However, one saturday she was so hungry and i refused to take her anywhere but here so she had no choice! Luckily for me, she loved it. I can now laugh at her for something else! The menu here has lots of choices and they are geared up perfectly for children. Lots of things to keep them entertained. The food is plentiful and cooked perfectly. The service is also quick and efficient and the prices are cheap which is even better!

You always know what you're going to get with the Harvester as the menu hardly changes, but nonetheless we mostly get a good meal and the children are keep busy with the paper and pencils provided. We visit more out of convenience then as a special treat. We all like the salad bar and this is well presented and clean. The service is always friendly and efficient, with the children made to feel welcome. There's plenty to choose from on the menu and the children have smaller versions of the dishes instead of having a menu of their own, and of course there's ice cream for them for dessert as well.

My daughters both love the salad bar which is much cleaner and well-stocked than most Harvesters! Some of the staff have been there over 10 years (I know, we've been going that long!) and are always welcoming and efficient, however busy they are. The menu is large with something for everyone, it's not haute cuisine but it's good value, healthy and fast. I would strongly recommend..
has its ups and downs
Yes its a chain, but despite that Harvester in Old Winsor is the perfect place for a good lunch at very good quality and value for money. Free salad bar and everything from the grill, the restaurant has a huge outdoor area with view over the Thames. I had the best bbq ribs I have ever had. Service is friendly quick and decor cosy. Very children friendly
